Who We Are

We are an organization dedicated to strengthening the autonomy of traditional peoples by valuing culture, ancestral knowledge, and sustainability.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

Our Story

Conexão Ancestral - Peoples of the Forest is a civil society organization founded in 2025 from the meeting of people committed to preserving culture, way of life, and promoting the autonomy of indigenous peoples and traditional communities.

Our story is born from direct interaction with indigenous communities in Acre, and the recognition that their ancestral knowledge, cultures, and territories are fundamental to protecting the forest and life on the planet.

We believe that indigenous peoples are the protagonists of their own stories and guardians of ancient knowledge about caring for nature. Therefore, we act as a support arm, developing projects in dialogue with communities, respecting their autonomy, traditions, and ways of life.

Conexão Ancestral works to strengthen indigenous self-determination, support cultural preservation, promote food security, improve living conditions in villages, and contribute to the defense of traditional territories.

OUR PATH

Our Journey

From a small group of people to a collective of action. Our journey is guided by the preservation of culture and the promotion of indigenous autonomy. We work side by side with traditional communities, transforming commitment to ancestry into real projects of sovereignty and sustainability.

  1. The Call of the Amazon

The journey begins with a pilgrimage to Acre to seek the ancestral knowledge of indigenous peoples. That exchange inspires a commitment to act together while respecting local priorities.

  2. The Seed of Commitment

The bond of friendship with communities transforms curiosity into a genuine desire to help overcome territorial and cultural challenges, guided by respect and careful listening.

  3. Concrete Projects

Start of specific actions in dialogue with leaders, focused on areas such as drinking water, food security, river mobility, and cultural protection, in line with local priorities.

  4. NGO Foundation

With increasing demands, the group formally organizes as an NGO to offer structured, transparent support and serve as an amplifier of forest voices, in dialogue with communities.
